Privacy Policy & App Information

Short version: WDWS is a Bible study web app. It does not require an account. Your notes, bookmarks, thoughts, highlights, and display preferences stay in your browser on your device unless you choose to copy or share them yourself.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to WDWS — What Does The Word Say (“WDWS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), available at wdws.app. It explains how the app handles information when you use its Bible reader, study tools, saved items, video links, and sponsored-merch link.

Information stored on your device

WDWS stores the following items in your browser’s local storage so that the app can remember your choices: theme and reading settings, translation preference, notes, bookmarks, thought collections, highlights, and original-language display settings. This information remains on your device and is not uploaded by WDWS to an account or WDWS database.

Information we do not request

WDWS does not require sign-in and does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, messages, photos, payment information, or health information. The current web build does not include advertising or analytics SDKs operated by WDWS.

Network requests and third-party services

To show Scripture and original-language study information, your browser may connect directly to Bible text and lexicon services, including Bible API and Bolls Bible. Video thumbnails and embedded video content use YouTube. Selecting Nazareth Clothing opens a separate third-party website. Those providers may receive standard technical information that browsers normally send with a request, such as your IP address, browser/device information, date and time, and the page or resource requested. Their privacy policies apply to their services.

WDWS does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not use your locally saved study items for advertising or profiling.

Retention and deletion

Your locally saved WDWS data stays in your browser until you delete it, clear browser/site data, or use the button below. Clearing local data permanently removes WDWS settings, notes, bookmarks, thoughts, and highlights stored in this browser. It does not affect information held by third-party services.

Device data controls

This action cannot be undone.

Security

WDWS is delivered over HTTPS when accessed through wdws.app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid putting sensitive personal information into study notes.

Children

WDWS is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child’s use of external websites linked from WDWS.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when we do. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@wdws.app.

Google Play Data Safety Summary

Account: WDWS does not provide account creation in this web build.

Data collected by WDWS: None intentionally collected or shared by WDWS. Study items and preferences are stored locally in the browser.

Third parties: Bible, lexicon, video, hosting, and external-link providers may process standard browser request data when you choose to use their services.

Important: The Google Play Data safety form must match the exact Android app package, permissions, SDKs, and services used when it is submitted. If a future version adds analytics, advertising, sign-in, cloud sync, notifications, or additional permissions, both this policy and the Play Console declaration must be updated before release.

Terms of Use & Content Information

WDWS is offered for personal Bible reading and study. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, mental-health, or pastoral advice. You are responsible for how you use the app and for complying with applicable laws.

Scripture text, original-language data, lexicons, video content, and external websites may be supplied by third parties and may be subject to their own licenses, terms, availability, and accuracy limitations. Copyrighted translations are opened through their authorized sources rather than copied into the WDWS reader. Video and merchandise links are external; WDWS does not process purchases or payments on those sites.

You may not use WDWS to interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, or violate another party’s rights.
